Currently there is no blanket rule within Auckland or New Zealand so this is highly dependent on your local planning laws and what is included in your house design. While every situation is different there are many reasons why you cannot and also ways that you can include a second kitchen into your build.
We are working on a very comprehensive planning guide which will help answer a lot of these questions, however in the meantime we highly recommend contacting a local planning consultant before approaching your local council.
Yes, just use normal non-abrasive household cleaning products and special stainless steel proprietary cleaners for the top and stainless steel range. We recommend regularly cleaning with a sponge and soapy water, finished off with a few drops of baby oil on a dry cloth.
This is designed to provide adequate ventilation for your fridge, which also extends the lifespan of the fridge by reducing the risk of overheating.
If you are concerned about food scraps or liquid entering this vent, we highly recommend purchasing a vent cover strip.
Every Elfin compact kitchen supplied is securely packaged in a corrugated cardboard box outer with internal preformed polystyrene protective sections. The 1200 and 1500 kitchen is mounted on 18mm chipboard to help prevent distortion when maneuvering into position.
Following payment, delivery will take up to five working days, subject to location. We do however, welcome collection from our Auckland warehouse.

Every appliance, including the hotplate has at least a 1 metre flex and 10amp plug fitted (with the exception of the Russell Hobbs convection oven/microwave). We strongly advise you to consult you electrician regarding the supply requirements. We do provide first fix instructions with socket outlet locations. Please refer to your compact kitchen manual. Yes. All Elfin Compact Kitchens have a quality Monobloc mixer tap included in the price. Elfin Eco Kitchens do not.
The design and construction has undergone and passed the European Union safety tests and has been issued with a European conformity certificate. A copy will be forwarded on request.
Yes. Every Elfin kitchen comes with an appropriate plumbing kit for its needs, however you will need to supply your own waste trap.
Yes. We have a number of compact kitchens on display in our Auckland showroom (Mt Wellington)
No, the units are handed (left and right), you can specify the side you require the sink. The sink side has a 50mm void between unit and wall allowing plenty of room for both the waste and the water supply.
Yes, every German produced Elfin Compact Kitchens has an “A” Rated 120 litre Liebherr Refrigerator/18 litre Freezer compartment and is compliant with relevant European energy legislation.
The hotplate will not work until the timer is set in the on position. The timer has a maximum setting of 30 minutes. Perfect for multiple occupancy dwellings ie apartments, flat under house etc as this allows the hotplates to switch off automatically once the timer runs out, which eliminates the chance of someone forgetting about them or falling asleep and burning down the building or setting off the apartment complex fire alarms.
